How to Download Instagram Reels
Instagram Reels are a fantastic source of entertainment, inspiration, and education. If you've ever wanted to save a Reel to your device to watch later or share outside the app, this guide will show you exactly how to do it using our free tool.
Why Can't I Download Reels Directly from Instagram?
While Instagram allows you to "Save" Reels within the app (which bookmarks them to your account), it does not provide a built-in feature to download the video file directly to your phone's camera roll or computer. To actually save the file, you need a third-party tool like our Instagram Downloader.
How to Download Instagram Reels
Our downloader works on both mobile devices and desktop computers. Here is how to use it:
- Open Instagram: Launch the Instagram app or visit the website and find the Reel you want to download.
- Copy the Link:
- On mobile: Tap the paper airplane (Share) icon, or the three dots (...), and select "Copy Link".
- On desktop: Click the three dots (...) in the top right corner of the post and select "Copy Link".
- Visit Our Downloader: Go to the Instagram Downloader page on MediaLift.
- Paste and Process: Paste the link into the input box. The tool will automatically fetch the video information.
- Save to Device: Click the download button. The MP4 video file will be saved directly to your device's downloads folder or camera roll.
What About Stories and Photos?
